Ultra-concentrated. Effective in 2 to 3 drops. For everyone. Morning and evening.
Serum is the central care of a skincare routine. Not an option, not a plus if you have time, but the only care you should apply if you had to choose.
Our scientific experts explain why and give you all the tips to get the most out of these unique treatments, formulated by Novexpert Laboratories.
1. The serum: the espresso of skincare
Little product. Maximum concentration. Targeted actions.
That’s exactly it, a serum. Daily, where drip coffee dilutes, espresso concentrates. It’s the same logic for your skin: serum is the treatment that concentrates the most active ingredients.
What 2 to 3 drops of a Novexpert serum contain:
💧More than 1 billion hyaluronic acid molecules* — Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum
🍊More than 100 mg of stabilized Vitamin C in one use* — Vitamin C Booster Serum
A cream contains on average 1 to 5% active ingredients. A serum often contains 10 to 30%. It’s not the same product category — it’s the same difference as between broth and a reduced sauce base.
The clinical results speak for themselves:
-66% wrinkles in less than 2 months — Double Pro-Retinol Serum*
-38% wrinkles in 28 days — Pro-Collagen Booster Serum*
-23% wrinkles in 28 days — Vitamin C Booster Serum*
100% clinical efficacy on imperfections — Trio-Zinc Booster Serum*
-40% surface reduction of spots in less than 2 months — Green Tea Polyphenol Booster Serum*
2. Serum vs cream: not a choice, a duo
We often hear: 'I don't have time for a serum.'
The real question: is my cream alone enough to act on my wrinkles, spots, radiance, imperfections?
The answer is no. Not because creams are bad. Because they are not the same tools.
Two missions, two products:
The serum — penetrates easily, acts quickly and deeply, targets a specific problem
The cream — protects, nourishes, prolongs the effect of the serum over time
The order is always the same: serum first, cream second. The most concentrated always first.
Imagine building a house. The serum is the foundation — it restructures, repairs, regenerates. The cream is the roof — it protects what has been built. One without the other remains incomplete.
Can you use a serum without cream?
Yes. On oily skin, in hot periods, or for men who prefer light textures: serum alone works perfectly.
Note: the Double Pro-Retinol Booster Serum is always used alone. Its dual texture replaces both serum AND cream — it is used alone, only at night.
Novexpert tip: mix the ranges.
Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum + Anti-Aging Expert Cream afterwards: enhanced hydration and prolonged anti-aging action. No strict rule: complementarity is key.
3. Which serum for your skin?
A serum is chosen based on a need, not an age.
There is no ideal age. Skin with imperfections can benefit from a serum from adolescence. Skin often exposed to the sun may need anti-aging from age 30. To choose, decode your skin without looking at the age on your ID card.
7 serums. Only one priority need. Here’s how to choose without hesitation.
Ask yourself only one question: what is my priority problem right now? Not the list of everything you'd like to fix. The number one.
Your skin is dehydrated, lacks comfort, and/or fine lines are present.

4. How to apply your serum properly: 5 mistakes to avoid
By interacting with you daily and observing certain practices, we realized that serums are often not used optimally. You don’t benefit from all their advantages due to small, often avoidable mistakes. Here are some tips from our scientific team.
Mistake No. 1 — Applying serum after cream
✗ What happens: Serum applied over cream does not penetrate optimally. Since it is the most concentrated treatment, it is more beneficial for your skin to apply it before a cream, some actives of which sometimes remain on the surface to nourish and hydrate.
✓ Instead: The optimal order is as follows: cleansing → mist → serum → cream. The most concentrated always first.
Mistake No. 2 — Not dampening the skin before applying certain serums
✗ What happens: Hyaluronic acid is a sponge: it attracts available water to plump up. On dry skin, it cannot act optimally, as little water is available. It may cause a tight feeling because it draws water already present in the skin.
A dry sponge lets water slide off. A slightly damp sponge absorbs 10 times more. Your skin is the same.
✓ Instead: Spray a mist or slightly dampen your skin before each aqueous serum.
Mistake No. 3 — Applying too much serum
✗ What happens: More serum ≠ more results. Excess creates a surface layer that the skin cannot absorb: sticky residue, discomfort, waste.
2 to 3 drops for the face + neck are enough. The right amount according to your skin type:
✓ Instead:For the Hyaluronic Acid Booster Serum, for example: Dry skin: 4 drops | Normal skin: 3 drops | Combination skin: 2 drops
If the serum shines on the surface after massage: reduce the amount.
The right amount of serum is indicated on all product sheets of our skincare.
Mistake No. 4 — Better to apply two serums during the day than one right after the other
✗ What happens: If you apply a second serum immediately after the first, the penetration of the second may be reduced, and your skin will not benefit as it should.
✓ Instead: One serum in the morning, one in the evening. The complementarity happens over time, not by layering. At Novexpert, we will always remind you: layering is not beneficial for your skin.
Morning: Vitamin C → radiance + antioxidant protection
Evening: HA or Pro-Retinol → nighttime regeneration
Mistake #5 — Using Pro-Retinol in the morning
✗ What happens: The Double Pro-Retinol Serum is a unique product, both cream and serum. Its white phase contains peeling actives, fruit acids, which accelerate cell renewal and optimize penetration of other actives. Like all treatments with peeling actives, it is recommended to use it in the evening and apply sunscreen the next day if exposed to the sun.
✓ Instead: Double Pro-Retinol Serum Booster: evening only. To work on wrinkles in the morning, the Pro-Collagen Serum remains the best option.
Retinol is among the best-documented anti-aging actives in dermatology. Its nighttime effectiveness is linked to accelerated cell renewal during sleep — a synergy not to waste.
The perfect sequence
Cleansing → Mist (skin slightly damp for water-based serums) → Serum → Cream
About 30 seconds wait between each step.
5. One serum, multi-use care.
The main goal of serums is to care for facial skin. However, other body parts can occasionally benefit from these ultra-concentrated treatments. Here are some tips.
Targeted hydration shot (Lips, hands)
• Why use it: Lips have no sebaceous glands, so they dehydrate faster than the rest of the face. Hyaluronic Acid provides a targeted hydration boost and plumps fine lines without oils or discomfort.
• How to apply: Place 1 drop on the fingertip around the lips or on each fragile cuticle. It also works perfectly under your hand cream.
Customized nutrition and soothing (Scalp and ends)
• Why use it: Its essential fatty acids restore the lipid film of the hair fiber and soothe sensitive areas, ensuring effective care without silicones or heavy residues.
• How to apply: Warm 2 to 3 drops between your palms.
For soothing care: Massage the scalp for 2 minutes before shampooing.
For finishing: Apply directly to dry ends after blow-drying.
The enhanced photoprotector duo (In duo with your SPF)
• Why adopt it: The combination of Vitamin C and SPF is one of the most recognized photoprotection synergies. While sunscreen blocks UV rays, Vitamin C neutralizes residual free radicals from pollution, blue light, and oxidative stress.
• How to apply: Apply to the face, wait 30 seconds for the product penetrate, then apply your usual sunscreen.
The essentials in 6 points:
✓ Serum before cream, on clean and slightly damp skin.
✓ A small dose is enough — ultra-concentrated
✓ One serum in the morning, one in the evening — layering is not recommended.
✓ Double Pro-Retinol Serum: evening only, alone — replaces serum + cream.
✓ No minimum age: serum is chosen based on need, not birthday.
✓ 100% natural origin ingredients, safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
